Winter Basketball Season

To All CYO Families,

Please read the following update I have been given by the Archdiocese. Unfortunately as an organization we have to wait on them to decide how we are going to move forward. Due to the concern of the Delta Variant CYONY is waiting on the CDC and NY State to decide what protocols are going to be put in place to have a safe environment for our children. However we are working on contingency plans in case there isn't a basketball season. I have reached out to other coordinators and they to have their hands tied. Any changes or updates you will find here on this website  and if your registered from the previous years you will receive email  notification. Thank You for your Patience

He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Margaret Stevens, his brothers Joey, Paul, and Jimmy, and his sister Betty. Mike’s passion was sports. He was a basketball coach at St. Mary’s CYO for over 40 years. He also coached Washingtonville Little League and Youth Football. He loved working with kids, teaching them the love of the game. He spent a great deal of time coaching his New York Giants and Yankees from his couch or the stands. He was also an avid golfer. Mike was a long-time employee of the Washingtonville School District, where he had many friends and will be missed. Mike was one of the kindest people you would ever want to know and was always willing to help anyone in need, never looking for recognition. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s CYO Basketball. PO Box 784 Washingtonville NY 10992.

A celebration of life will occur once restrictions are lifted.

I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed- MJ

I'll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it's sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot.- Kobe Bryant
